The Emir of Bungudu in Zamfara State, Sarkin Fulani, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Hassan Attahiru, has approved the appointment of seasoned journalist, Aminu Lawal as the First Jekada of Bungudu Emirate.

Aminu Lawal is the Chief Spokesperson to Member House of Reps, Bungudu /Maru Federal Constituency, Abdulmalik Zubairu Zannan Bungudu.

A traditional title of Jekada means Ambassador and a Messenger of the Emirate.

The Emir had earlier confirmed the appointment in a letter signed by the Emirate’s Secretary, Alhaji Usman Ibrahim Ahmad.

Receiving a delegation led by the new Jekada of Bungudu, Malam Aminu Lawal for a thank-you visit to the Emirate, the Emir of Bungudu congratulated the new Jekada of Bungudu for recording a great achievement in his lifetime, being appointed as First Jekada of Bungudu.

The traditional ruler commended, Lawal for his contribution to the common man especially in the areas of health, education, and other social services aligned with the vision of the emirate.

“The Emirate council carefully noted Lawal’s records of service, particularly to vulnerable groups in the community.

“The contributions of the new Jekada are inline with our objectives to meet the needs of our people. Personalities like him are highly needed in taking the emirate to greater heights,” the Emir said.

Earlier, the new Jekada of Bungudu, expressed gratitude to the Emir and the council for the honour to him.

“I didn’t know that the emirate had been monitoring my activities, especially the humanitarian services I have been rendering, especially to the vulnerable persons.

“I am happy today for having this kind of recognition by our father, our leader, the Emir of Bungudu.

“This recognition will encourage me to do more and always work for the development of Bungudu Emirate.”
