As part of its social responsibilities to the host communities, the Sector II of the Joint Taskforce Operation Hadin Kai of the Nigerian Army, has distributed learning materials to primary and secondary schools in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital.
This was part of the commemoration of the Nigerian Army Day Celebration 2025 with the theme, “Criteria for selection, enlistment and career opportunities” is aimed at creating awareness for students that may have the ambition of joining the army after graduation.
In his remarks, the Commander Sector II Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai, represented by the Deputy Chief of Staff, Lt. Col. Magaji Usman, revealed that the Nigerian Army has created several opportunities where young talented youth excel both nationally and internationally.
“This day is called Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) which is celebrated on 6th July, yearly. On this special day, special prayers were offered for the repose of the souls of our fallen heroes and activities such as medical and educational outreaches as well as public speaking engagements are carried out.
“The aim of this short talk is to acquaint you with the history, criteria for selection/enlistment into the Nigeria Army as well as career opportunities in the Nigeria Army” he said.
During the commemoration, over 20 students were given the privilege of asking questions on the selection and enlistment after graduation.
Some of the principals of the schools commended the military for the gesture, saying the programme has cleared some of the grey areas and questions the students have.
