Senator Binos Yaroe, representing Adamawa South Senatorial District, has donated healthcare equipment to the Primary Healthcare Centre (PHCC) in Kajoli, Jada Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

The donation, facilitated by the Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA), aims to improve healthcare delivery for residents of border communities.

According to Yaroe, Chairman of the Senate Committee on State and Local Government Affairs, the intervention will benefit not only Kajoli, but also Fufore community in the state.

“We want to ensure that residents in border areas have access to quality healthcare without having to cross into neighboring Cameroon,” he said.

The donated equipment include, hospital beds, mattresses, operating tables, surgical facilities, wheelchairs, and sterilizing equipment.

Dr. George Kelly, Executive Secretary of BCDA, represented by Mrs. Roselyn Abuh, explained that the agency focuses on providing socio-economic infrastructure to underserved border communities.

Kelly noted that the gesture aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which seeks to ensure no part of the country is left behind.

The agency has also provided schools, water projects, empowerment programs, and is working to deploy mini-grids to border communities.

Mrs. Mercy Dauda, Permanent Secretary, Adamawa State Boundary Commission, lauded the gesture, noting that it would reduce risks faced by pregnant women and emergency cases.

Mrs. Helen Shamaki, Executive Secretary, Jada Local Government Primary Healthcare Authority, pledged to properly maintain the equipment.

The District Head of Kajoli, Alhaji Kabiru Hayatu, commended the senator and BCDA for the intervention.

The Facility Manager, Mr. Muktar Hamman, said the donation, combined with additional medical personnel, had upgraded the centre to a cottage hospital capable of handling emergencies.
