The Southern Kaduna Journalists’ Forum (SKJF), has lauded and extended its unreserved appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the appointment of Ms Lydia Kalat Musa as Chairman of the Governing Board of the Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority (OGFZA).

The forum, in a statement issued by its chairman, Ango Bally, said that the forum views the appointment as a significant and commendable gesture of inclusion, particularly for Southern Kaduna and other historically marginalised regions.

According to the statement, “It reflects a welcome shift towards equitable representation under the leadership of President Tinubu, fulfilling a long-standing aspiration for national integration.”

It added, “Ms Musa, a native of Kaduna State, is a highly competent and dedicated professional, widely respected for her exceptional acumen in public administration and policy leadership in the oil and gas sector.”

He explained that her appointment is not only well-deserved but also strategic in advancing the objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the federal government’s through her stewardship at OGFZA.

“Her appointment brings to the table a sharp intellect, sound judgement, and the visionary capacity to effectively lead the Authority’s strategic mandate of attracting investment, enhancing operational efficiency, and accelerating the development of Nigeria’s oil and gas free zones,” Bally further explained.

The forum urged Ms Musa to serve as a distinguished ambassador of Southern Kaduna, showcasing the talent, resilience, and leadership potential the region has to offer.

According to the forum, “Southern Kaduna remains grateful to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for recognising its value and capacity to contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s development in achieving his Renewed Hope Agenda.”

The Southern Kaduna Journalists’ Forum with the Motto: “Advocacy For Inclusive Development”, reaffirms its commitment to upholding the democratic ethos through its professional duty of holding government to account, while continuing to highlight and support initiatives that foster equity, justice, and national progress under the Tinubu-led administration.
