The immediate past Secretary General of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Rev. Yunusa Sabo Nmadu, has tasked the President Bola Tinubu-led government to go all out to tackle insecurity by getting to the root cause of those sponsoring the terrorists in order to bring an end to the menace in the country.
He observed that insecurity has caused a serious setback in the country in all spheres of life in the past decades of its existence.
According to him, “Insecurity has taken Nigeria backwards in all ramifications and something urgent needs to be done to address the situation in order give Nigerians a conducive environment for them to showcase their potentials to better their ways of life and that of the country.”
Speaking to newsmen in Kaduna on Thursday at a public presentation and book launch titled: “Faith, Church and Service to Humanity” in his honour by the department of Christian Religious Studies of Kaduna State University, he said all hands must be on deck to bring an end to what has caused a colossal loss of both human and property in parts of the country.
According to him, faith and society should co-exist to be able to ensure a better country, saying that the faith of all religious leaders should be practical enough to give a good society in all sphere of life.
He lamented lot killings going on in different parts of the country, affirming that Christian communities have been mostly affected, urging the government of the day to continue through the military personnel to ensure the safety of all Nigerians.
According to him, “Most governments in the past paid lip service to the issue of security challenges in the country. I must commend the present administration of Bola Tinubu for doing his best in tackling the challenge.
He also called on Nigerians to play their roles in condemning the activities of those behind the illicit act by exposing anyone found no matter how highly placed in the society in order to get a head way of the situation in the country.
He opined, “Some highly placed Nigerians are doing all they could to frustrate the efforts of government to arrest the situation. Others are also doing so for their selfish interests. Government should use all means to fish them out and bring an end to the security challenges in the country.”
