President Bola Tinubu on Friday, declared that the pains and suffering of Nigerians would soon be over.

The President said this in Ibadan at the presentation of Staff and Instruments of office to Oba Rashidi Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland held at Oke-Mapo in Ibadan .

He appreciated the support, endurance and perseverance of Nigerians over the pains being experienced as a result of the dwindling economic situation.

The President emphasized that
there is bright light of the economic recovery at the end of the tunnel.

“I have the honour to give you a cheering news that the economy has turned a corner. There is a bright light at the end of the tunnel”, he said.

President Tinubu added, “Your suffering is a pain of a painful surgery but the moment of growth and prosperity is awaiting us ahead.

“Thank you for your perseverance. Thank you for your endurance. Thank you for your understanding.”

Speaking on the new Olubadan, the President said Oba Ladoja has weathered many storms in life but came out successfully, adding, “part of his success stories, according to Tinubu is what we are celebrating today”

” If I have to recall the moment that we share together in the Senate, the struggle that we had together as the governors, the story of impeachment and your come back story, your perseverance, your resilience, your determination and your reliability worth celebration.

“The people of Ibadan have demonstrated the love that they have for you. As I was driven from the Airport to Oke-Mapo, the venue of event, I can see the joy on the faces of the people that lined the streets”

He stressed further, ” It is clear that you will live more and be celebrated as one of the rare gems of history to ascend the throne of your fore fathers. My prayers is that God will grant you a long life and wisdom to excel in your new assignment”.

Gov Makinde stressed that all the challenges associated with Ibadan traditional institution have become a thing of the past.

The new Olubadan informed President Tinubu that the first assignment given to him by the people of Ibadan was to secure ‘Ibadan State,’ adding that with President Tinubu, it was a done deal.

“The staff of office presented to me today is a thing of joy for all Ibadan people. I thank the Olubadan-in-Council for unanimously endorsing me” he said.

Oba Ladoja added, ” All Ibadan people asked me to tell the president that they want ‘Ibadan State.’ The National Assembly has no problem with that. We want the new statement before 2027.”

“I assure you. I am here to serve the people with all my power. There is nothing I want again. God has preserved me to serve the people of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria and all over Africa as much as He empowers me,”

The Coronation was attended by Gov Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, Gov Lucky Ayedatiwa of Ondo State and Gov Abiodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State

Others at the coronation are the Sultan of Sokoto, His eminence Sa’ad Abubakar, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi represented by his wife, Olori Folasade Ashley Ogunwusi, Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade; Alake of Egbaland, Oluwo of Iwo, Soun of Ogbomoso, Olugbon of Ugbo Kingdom, Okere of Saki, Eleriwa of Eruwa among others.
