In a move that signals stronger international collaboration, Mrs. Gill Lever, OBE, the British Deputy High Commissioner to Nigeria, paid a courtesy visit to Governor Uba Sani at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House earlier on Wednesday.
The high-level meeting focused on strengthening the already robust partnership between Kaduna State and key UK development agencies, notably the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).
Discussions centered around ongoing joint projects, including the Partnership for Agile Governance and Climate Engagement (PACE) and the Sustainable Power and Irrigation for Nigeria (SPIN) initiative.
“These initiatives are vital to improving the quality of life for our people and advancing sustainable development across Kaduna State,” Governor Sani remarked.
Mrs. Lever commended the administration’s leadership and acknowledged the tangible progress made, especially in enhancing peace and security across the state through the Kaduna Peace Model a strategy praised for its effectiveness in building community trust and reducing conflict.
Governor Sani reaffirmed Kaduna’s commitment to deepening its strategic relationship with the UK, emphasizing the importance of global partnerships in achieving long-term development goals.
“We are determined to build a future where our citizens thrive in a safe, prosperous, and sustainable environment. The UK remains a valuable ally in this mission,” the governor stated.
The meeting concluded with mutual pledges to enhance collaboration on governance reforms, climate resilience, power infrastructure, and community-based development.
