Defence Spikers dismantled Safety Spikers 2-0 (25-17, 25-19) on Day 5 of the ongoing 2025 National Division I League in Abuja on Saturday, August 16.

The 2025 National Division I and II Volleyball League are currently ongoing at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Package B.

The day continued with a flurry of gripping encounters across both divisions, leaving fans on the edge of their seats.

The women’s division saw some nail-biting action, starting with Sokoto Caliphate’s comeback win against Net Force. After dropping the first set 25-20, the northern side rallied to take the next two sets 25-23 and 15-13 in a tense finish.

Adamawa Spartans and Bayonet Spikers also delivered a closely fought encounter, with the Spartans emerging victorious 2-1 (25-21, 17-25, 19-17).

Meanwhile, Excelsior VC bounced back with a straight-set win over Sokoto Caliphate (25-21, 25-21). In another close contest, Safety Spikers edged Adamawa Spartans 2-1 in a match that went down to the wire (25-17, 22-25, 16-14).

In Division II, Edo Beads and Plateau Rocks engaged in a thrilling three-set battle. After losing the first set 23-25, Edo Beads fought back to win the next two sets 26-24 and 15-12.

Light Spikers eased past Bayelsa Spikers in straight sets (25-19, 25-21), while Rhino Spikers handed Edo Beads a straight-set defeat (25-23, 25-21) in a later fixture.

Kuje Spikers overcame Excelsior VC 2-1 (25-19, 22-25, 15-12), and Net Force pulled off a comeback win over Ekiti Spikers (23-25, 25-20, 15-13).

Elsewhere, Plateau Rocks dominated Sokoto Caliphate, cruising to a comfortable 2-0 win (25-6, 25-16), while Bayelsa Spikers edged Ekiti Spikers 2-1 in another tight match (25-23, 23-25, 15-11).
