The Lafogido Heritage Foundation, at the weekend, distributed books, uniforms and digital learning tools to public school children in Ile-ife, Osun State,

President and coordinator of the foundation, Prince Adeyemi Ademiluyi while speaking at the event said the gesture is to build the children skillfully and prepare them well for the future.

Prince Ademiluyi pointed out that the group is also committed to given the school children vocational training programmes and establishing skill acquisition centers for them,to learn tailoring, crafts, and digital literacy.

According to Prince Ademiluyi, the foundation started in 2023 in memory of his late father and that the focus was to ensure that young people can develop their talents and skills.

“We are here to celebrate our future generation. The participants are from Nursery, Primary, and Secondary schools. We are building these children skillfully so that they can become the future. This programme is thrown open to all the public primary and secondary schools and also the children in Lafogido community in Ile-Ife”, he said.

Prince Ademiluyi added, ” As a foundation, we are doing this to ensure that our young ones would be able to develop their talents and skills and also carry the lineage of the Yoruba line.

“The foundation started in 2023 in memory of my late father, Prince Ademakinwa Ademiluyi who passed on in 1993. During his lifetime, his passion was always to see Ife grow. That is why I imbibe that”

He stressed that other programmes in the pipelines included health care outreach like, organizing medical checkups and health awareness campaigns for vulnerable community members and cultural tourism promotion, showcasing the Lafogido lineage and traditions to encourage tourism in the state and across the country.

” We believe that our cultural heritage holds solutions to contemporary challenges and offers a foundation for growth and unity in today’s world. The Lafogido foundation remains dedicated to the richness of Ile-ife traditions, while building a brighter future for generations to come.” He assured.

Chairman of the occasion, Muyiwa Omisade, while speaking, tasked well-to-do Nigerians to give back to their communities.

Commending the foundation for the gesture, Mr Muyiwa Omisade noted that development of the society should not be left to the government and traditional rulers alone.

“This is a very good programme. When you are blessed, you have to extend the blessings to others, especially, the less privileged. What the founder of this foundation is doing is very laudable. This will help his community to develop. Other well-to-do people should also get involved in the development of their communities. We cannot leave everything to the state government and our traditional rulers. This programme has shown the importance of investing in education.”
