The Vice Chancellor of David Umahi Federal University of Health Sciences, Prof. Jesse Uneke, has said that the institution is raising children that will make meaningful contributions that will transform the society tomorrow..

He used the opportunity to commend all the members of staff and officers of the University for their resilience and dedication.

Prof.Uneke also marked his birthday celebration with heartfelt encomium, gratitude, and solemn worship and praises to God for His abundant grace, mercy, and kindness.

The birthday celebration ,held at the office of the Vice Chancellor, drew dignitaries from various walks of life — including principal officers of the university, other members of staff,business moguls, clergy men, friends, and well-wishers — who gathered to celebrate the life and service of a man they described as a visionary leader,academic giant with divine impact on humanity.

The celebrant, Prof. Jesse Uneke, expressed joy over the massive celebration of his birthday, thanking God for His mercies and kindness over his life.He also appreciated members of staff for their unwavering support, resilience, commitment and dedication, saying that the institution is raising children that will make meaningful contributions to the society tomorrow.

“i want to appreciate all of you for your unwavering support, resilience, commitment and dedication.

In a series of interviews, principal officers, friends and well wishers expressed admiration and joy over Prof.Uneke’s milestone achievements.The Registrar of the university, Mr.Vitalis Ofor, described Prof Uneke as a man with vast experience, energetic and hardworking,praying for greater years ahead filled with sound health, grace, and prosperity.

Mr. Ofor further noted that Prof.Uneke deserves celebration, having laid the foundation of the University and having made a enormous impact towards the growth and development of the institution.

“As every other person, birthday is a thing of joy. It is a period of celebration, having clocked 365 days of the year.Our Vice Chancellor is a man we deserve to celebrate in a special way, having made enormous impact towards the growth and development of the institution.

“Having laid the foundation of this school,he deserves celebration.His programs and policies have impacted positively in my office as the Registrar.He is a driving force, working with him is a big boost for me, because our Vice Chancellor is a man with experience, very hardworking and energetic.

“Of course, he is of the 21st century Vice Chancellor class,so I can tell you,I have learned enough working with him.He has impacted in my office in this digital age. We started this University from zero level,but today,it is one of the best in town. This is because we have a Vice Chancellor who is determined; a Vice Chancellor who has vision.Even before assuming office,he has a target,he knows what he wants.

“He understands that university administration has gone beyond pen and paper.Because of this,all the University programs and activities are being driving by ICT, research and innovation”.

Adding his voice,the Burser of the University, Dr Charles Chukwuemaka Nwobia also described him as a beacon of inspiration, stating that the birthday of Prof Uneke is remarkable, having shown exceptional commitment to place the University on the global map.

“ We celebrate not just another year of your remarkable life, but the profound impact you have made on each of us and our beloved university. Your vision to place our institution on the global map has been a beacon of inspiration, guiding us through challenges and triumphs alike.

`Your unwavering commitment to uplifting not only the university but also the families and individuals who work alongside you is a testament to your character. You have nurtured an environment where dreams are pursued, talents are honed, and lives are transformed. Each initiative you champion reflects your dedication to not just academic excellence, but also to the well-being of the community you hold dear.

On his part,the Secretary of College of Medicine (DUFUHS) ,Dr.Okorie Peter expressed gratitude to God for giving us a trailblazer,an erudite scholar of 21st century,whose legacies is standing tall across the world.

The Senior Assistant Registrar,who also doubles as the Secretary to the Vice Chancellor,Barr.P.C.Ngene said: “ I have seen you stay up late, pouring over ideas, refining outreaches and strategies, chasing partnerships, and doing all the `hard, silent’ work that most people don’t even notice. I’ve watched you lead with compassion even on days you were running on empty. I’ve seen you put others first (not for applause, but because it’s who you are).

`You dream big, but you serve even bigger. And that, Boss, is what makes you rare.

`Yes, I’ve been blessed to be part of this vision, but it’s your unwavering drive, your faith in something greater, and your refusal to give up (even when things were seemingly hard), that brought DUFUHS to life.
“Working with you has taught me more than any book or course ever could. You’ve shown me what leadership looks like when it’s rooted in resilience… and what legacy looks like when it’s shaped by sacrifice.

Other members of staff like Arch T.J Echeagu, Okpara Chidi Okpara, Mkpuma Enyinna Omoke all appropriated God for adding another fruitful and rewarding years to the Vice Chancellor, describing him as a role model,pacesetter,man of integrity, an epitome of hope and orderliness.
